HuneX has announced that they will release all four volumes of “Hana Awase New Moon” (Original: WoGa) for the Nintendo Switch in 2023.
“Hana Awase New Moon” is about a forbidden love story between “Hana” (flower) and “Mizu” (water) inspired by Hanafuda (Japanese playing cards) motifs created by illustrator Yura and the project “Tsuki ni Murakumo, Hana ni Kaze”. The game features a conventional text adventure part and a Hanafuda battle segment. It’s a port of the PC version of “Hana Awase” released from 2012 to 2019. Similar to the original version, all four volumes are scheduled to be released simultaneously.
In addition to the announcement, a key visual featuring new illustrations by Yura, the artist responsible for Hana Awase’s character design and original artwork, has been released on the game’s teaser site. Details such as the official release date will be disclosed at a later time.
According to Japanese gaming news sites such as Gamer, Famitsu, and Dengeki Online, the Nintendo Switch port of Hana Awase will include Japanese, English, and Chinese (traditional/simplified) subtitles. The game’s audio will be in Japanese only. Several JP to EN translators and localizers have also confirmed their involvement in the game’s localization.

I’ve played this game (all four titles) very recently and even posted a review on it on my blog, but I never thought I’d see the day it would have an English localisation. I really love this game, so I’m happy to see it reach a wider audience. I’m curious whether they’ll release all four titles separately and how they’ll localise all the waka poetry though.
