~Bad End~

I’ve gotten a couple of emails and DMs asking how I solved the puzzle in Takeru’s prologue, so I’ll try to explain it here as best as I can!
- Firstly, you can easily figure out the password, after inputting a wrong answer twice. That’s when Tachibana gives you the hint.
- The hint on the first line was emphasized to help you figure out the answer when Tachibana gives you a clue. “NINE” days ago, #23(W) came and N disappeared. Replacing (N)INE with W = the word WINE. Thus following the sentence “We clinked glasses”.
- As for the puzzle itself, I admit it was quite confusing at first, but after the game gives you the hint, it all makes more sense. What I did was – I wrote down the letters corresponding to their numbers (#) and then crossed out the ones that “disappear”.
- This was my draft when I was solving it lol (I’ll be explaining it below!).
- There is a typo in this puzzle as speculated by the user, ‘Captain’ – pls check out the comment section below.
- Yes, if it wasn’t for the hint, this puzzle is totally bonkers.
I have 26 friends (“26” refers to the 26 letters of the alphabet)
-Nine days ago-
#23 came. In exchange, N disappeared. We clinked glasses. (The letter that came was “W”), So if you list down all the letters that “came” and remove the ones that “disappear” the current answer is: W
-Eight days ago-
#7 came. In exchange, E disappeared. The chicken was delicious. (#7 is G)
Current Answer: W, G
-Seven days ago-
#20 came. In exchange, W disappeared. I wanted to play the triangle. (#20 is T, We’ll cross out W in return as that letter was indicated to “disappear”)
Current Answer: W, G, T
-Six days ago-
#9 came. In exchange, I disappeared. I served myself some salad. (#9 is I. Take note that “I” was also indicated to disappear, so we need to cross “I” as well)
Current Answer: W, G, T, I
– Five days ago-
#5 came. In exchange, G disappeared. I listened to some music. (#5 is E, cross out G)
Current Answer: W, G, T, I , E
-Four days ago-
#18 came. In exchnage, N disappeared. I ripped a hole in my sock. (#18 is R)
Current Answer: W, G, T, I , E, R
-Three days ago-
#1 came. In exchange, O disappeared. I made sure my scales were accurate. (#1 is A)
Current Answer: W, G, T, I , E, R, A
-Two days ago-
#8 came. T disappeared. Speedy and inconsistent loses the race. (#8 is H, and we need to cross out T)
Current Answer: W, G, T, I , E, R, A, H
-One day ago-
#5 came again, In exchange, A disappeared. I stayed where I was. (#5 is E. Cross out A)
Current Answer: W, G, T, I , E, R, A, H, E
-Zero days ago-
#15 is coming. E will disappear. I will become a _ _ _ _. (#15 is O. Cross out the first E)
Current Answer: W, G, T, I , E, R, A, H, E, O
Gather the letters that aren’t crossed out we get: R H E O
which is the jumbled word for H E R O
Lastly, Tachibana’s hint to Ichika (which I have no idea where it sprung from lol): “Zero.” “#8 came” “Z disappeared.” So simply, replace (Z)ERO with H(#8) and you get H E R O.
How did you solve the puzzle?

I only figured it out when Tachibana gives the hint. 26 “friends” means 26 letters of the alphabet. The first example they gave was “NINE” days ago, #23(W) came and N disappeared. Replacing (N)INE with W = the word WINE.
You’ll only need to focus on what Ichika said on the last part “ZERO” “#8(H)” “Z disappeared”; So simply replace (Z)ERO with H and you get HERO.
As for the clue/puzzle, if you just keep adding the letters corresponding their #s and then cross out the ones that “disappear” you’re left with RHEO which is the jumbled word for HERO.

Ohhhh, damn I feel so dumb, I only got H and R when trying to solve it on my own 🤦🏻♀️
Anyway, thank you!!

Ok so I’m positive there is a typo in this puzzle. I think my mother found out how it’s actually supposed to be solved and it makes so much more sense.
26 friends = the alphabet
We start at -Nine Days Ago-
The puzzle tells us W came and N left. That gives us Wine if we looked at the the Nine. It also makes sense with the glasses remark.
So from there you just keep adjusting the word. It then makes a new word that correlates with each day.
Nine
Wine
Wing
Ting
Tong (this is where the typo is, it says I comes and goes. It should be #15(O) not #9(I))
Tone
Tore
Tare (I had to look this up, it has to do with scales)
Hare

Ohmygosh! You’re right! I was wondering about HARE and HERE because the sentence they follow suit makes sense while the others don’t (I was thinking that the letters were just jumbled)…but when you actually just keep adjusting the word NINE the rest makes a lot of sense! And that damn freakin TYPO! Im so glad you caught on this! Much thanks!
