Shochiku Co., Ltd.’s Game Division (Shochiku Games) has announced the initiation of the project for the new PC romance visual novel game “Algorithm Prescription.” A free trial version, allowing a glimpse into the game’s world ahead of time, is scheduled for release on Steam in the second quarter of 2026. The game will be available in the following languages: Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.

ABOUT THE GAME
Algorithm Prescription is a visual novel based on the concept of “Romance x Suspense.” In the free trial version (scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2026), the story unfolds from a third-person perspective rather than the protagonist’s perspective, allowing you to learn about the relationship between the protagonist and the characters, as well as the world view. The story contains many foreshadowing elements leading to the main game.
SYNOPSIS
Xenoria, a city run entirely by AI
Trust, occupation, romance, everything in life is pre-determined by “”Empathy Score”” which reveals a person’s personality.
Although it appears to many as a limiting system, as long as the score is high and stable, it is said to be the best town to live in the world.
Because it is run by AI, many are attracted by the environment which does not require extraordinary effort to blend in, which led to the uprising population in recent years.
Cocoro, our main heroine, was born in a small island. After graduating from college, she came to Xenoria looking for a job.
She managed to find work in the largest hospital -Xenoria General Hospital- and started her career as junior doctor. However, a crack in the quiet and balanced city of Xenoria, is starting to develop.
Glitches in AI, and disturbance in order.
Cocoro will unravel the secret of this city, and pursue the truth about herself.
MAIN CHARACTERS
Shu (CV: Toshinari Fukamachi)
Famous psychiatrist in Xenoria General Hospital.
He lived with Cocoro on the same island very shortly in his childhood. Does not appear to be happy about Cocoro’s arrival to Xenoria General Hospital.
Tachibana (CV: Haruki Ishiya)
Janitor who is cursed to be untouchable by time and aging(?). Quite fond of Cocoro and living to return favors to Cocoro as her neighbor. Looking for the key to dismantle the curse so he could spend more time with her.
Akuto (CV: Shunichi Toki)
A certified sweet talker, an existence uncatchable who will mesmerize with his light and sweet talks. Met Shu in college, and seems to have some interest in his childhood friend Cocoro. Akuto is well knowledgeable in AI due to his birth in Xenoria, a man shrouded by mysteries.
Cocoro (Main Heroine)
Raised by her grandmother on Uminari Island, came to Xenoria pursuing her medical career as a junior doctor. Sensitive to people’s emotions.
WORLDVIEW
“Xenoria” is a city flourishing as the world’s first fully AI-managed metropolis. It has become a popular city in recent years because being managed by AI allows people to live in the best environment suited to them.
