Idea Factory International Announces Homura: The Crimson Warriors for Localization in 2026

Idea Factory International has announced that the original PlayStation Vita Japanese release of the otome visual novel Homura: The Crimson Warriors will be coming to Nintendo Switch™, both physically and digitally, in 2026.

Alongside the announcement, fans can check out the new Announcement Trailer, which showcases the five love interests of the Crimson Warriors.

ABOUT THE GAME

Fourteen years have passed since the Battle of Sekigahara split Japan in two.

Now firmly in control, the Tokugawa shogunate is scheming to eliminate the Toyotomi clan, a long-standing thorn in its side.

In response, the Toyotomi clan has decided to confront the Tokugawa head-on, using Osaka Castle as their stronghold. Calls for support were sent to daimyo throughout the nation and a mere few answered the call. One of these brave warriors was Nobushige Sanada, the second son of the Sanada family who was cast away to Mt. Kudo on house arrest after the Battle of Sekigahara.

Alongside Nobushige on his escape from Mt. Kudo are the Sanada Ten Braves, ten ninjas who serve him even after their exile. Standing in their way are the Ura Yagyu, a group comprised of assassins who have carried out many killings under orders from the shogunate, mysterious swordsmen, and mighty warriors.

This is the final chapter of the Warring States period. It is a tale of the bonds and way of life shared by the Nobushige Sanada and the Ten Braves who gather at Osaka Castle.

LOVE INTERESTS

Nobushige Sanada (CV: Junichi Suwabe)

Second son of the Sanada family. Fought alongside Mitsunari Ishida at the Battle of Sekigahara. He was exiled to Mt. Kudo in Kishu with his father, Masayuki Sanada, as punishment. Masayuki, having twice repelled the Tokugawa’s forces, was assassinated, leaving Nobushige by himself. He’s bothered by not being considered a threat and resolves to side with the Toyotomi in their uprising.

Sasuke Sarutobi (CV: Tomokazu Sugita)

A member of the Sanada ninjas and the youngest among the ten. His father, a former Koga ninja, died when Sasuke was a child. He was raised by Hakuunsai Tozawa to become a Sanada ninja. He later serves Nobushige Sanada in intelligence and protection work. He blames himself for the assassination of Masayuki. Despite being the youngest, he is the most skilled in ninja arts. True to his name, he excels at monkey-style ninja arts and is friends with a little monkey.

Saizo Kirigakure (CV: Kazuyuki Okitsu)

A member of the Sanada ninjas. Formerly an Iga ninja. He left the Iga clan for personal reasons and sought to make a name for himself by challenging well-known warriors. After dueling Nobushige Sanada and Sasuke Sarutobi, he joined the Sanada ninjas. He is confident in both swordsmanship and ninja arts, and often resorts to ruthless tactics to fulfill his goals. His ultimate goal is to rise as a samurai, preferring the sword to ninja tools.

Juzo Kakei (CV: Kenichi Suzumura)

Former retainer of the Sanada clan. Attendant to Nobushige Sanada. Juzo originally served Nobushige as a page within the Sanada household, then followed him to Mt. Kudo even after their confinement. He later began working as a Sanada ninja, specializing in modified firearms, explosives, and gunpowder handling. Because of a debt of gratitude to the Sanada family, he always puts Nobushige first. He makes sound, rational judgments and treats women kindly.

Kamanosuke Yuri (CV: Soichiro Hoshi)

A member of the Sanada ninjas and a former renowned kabuki samurai. He forced his way into the famed Sanada house to become Nobushige’s subordinate. Straightforward and sincere, he values empathy, loyalty, and friendship. Among the younger three Sanada ninjas, he is the oldest and acts like a big brother. He sets the tone for the group and wields a giant sickle and chain. His small stature belies his great strength.

  1. Here I am waiting to see the Illusion of Itehari review and this pops up on your page!!

This title looks awesome! I haven’t gotten my ninja/samurai/sword fighting fix in an otome since Birushana (and Winter’s Wish to a lesser extent) so I’m defo looking forward to this! Major Hakuouki and Nightshade vibes with this one, even the heroine looks familiar. Hopefully it’s still unique! 🙂

  3. I’m so excited for this! I had pre-ordered the JP version just so I could get the preorder benefits because they were all so gorgeous! I was totally not expecting them to localize this, considering there wasn’t much talk about it compared to all of the other JP releases around that time and onward. I can count on IFI releasing a nice Limited/Special Edition Set, too 😆

The VA cast and character design are all top notch (Suwabe, Sugita, Okitsu, and Okamoto all in one game 😍). I’m super intrigued by Nobu’s character, too (I feel like there are going to be some major spoilers with him 😅). The MC looks really cute, and from the first 5 minutes I had played on the JP version (with my limited kanji knowledge 😭), she isn’t the completely helpless damsel in distress type of MC.

    1. oops, I somehow got Kurenai no Homura and Touki no Kizuna mixed up. They’ve got really similar vibes 😅 either way, I’m still really excited. Now, if only Matsurika no Kei can be localized, too 🤗
