Welcome to Part 2 of my 2025 End-of-Year Round-Up. This second post is usually more casual and will focus on recaps and highlights from my 2025 so far, both within the otome gaming sphere and a few personal updates from yours truly.
2025 Otome Highlights
✔️ There were 15 (localized) Otome Games released for the Switch & PC this year.
Nintendo Switch
- Genso Manège
- Despera Drops (also has a PC release)
- Battlefield Waltz
- 7’Scarlet (PS Vita Port)
- From Madness with Love (JP Eshop only, also has a PC release)
- The Red Bell’s Lament
- Bustafellows Season 2 (also has a PC release)
- Arcana Famiglia Rinato
- Illusion of Itehari
- Mistonia’s Hope: The Lost Delight
- Neon Clash: Echoes of the Lost
PC Exclusive
- Club Suicide
Mobile Port
- DESTIND: Mr. Almost Right
- Gangsters in Love
- Court of Darkness
I included 7’Scarlet on the Switch list because, although it is a PS Vita port, the Switch version for it is more enhanced and includes new features that aren’t in the Vita release. The indie title, From Madness with Love btw, did not get a Western eShop release. While the game offers an English language option, it is only available for purchase through the JP eShop. For those who prefer a physical copy, the game can be purchased here.
Ngl, I’ve mainly kept up with the Switch localizations only this year, so it’s possible I missed a few PC-exclusive localized titles. Feel free to comment with any games I may have overlooked, and I’ll be sure to add them to the list.

✔️ Lots of Exciting Indie Games Coming in 2026.
There are actually sooooo many indie games slated for release next year. The indie scene has really been on a roll, and it’s been amazing to see so many indie titles gaining attention within the community recently! Unfortunately, I haven’t kept up with indie releases as closely this year, but the ones I’ve marked on my 2026 Schedule, basically the titles I’m most excited to play for next year are:
- Shattered Souls
- Touchstarved
- Mirage Noir
- Salvus Aries
- High Times (not otome)
I’ve also backed several other Kickstarter campaigns, but since I’m not entirely sure whether their release dates fall in next year, I haven’t added them to my “Games to play” schedule for 2026 just yet.
Blog Updates
- About Public Gaming Schedule
I’ve received quite a few requests for weekly updates on what games I’m currently playing, what I’ll be playing next, and which titles I’ll be reviewing or posting walkthroughs for. And while I’ve given this some thought, I have decided to not make my gaming schedule public. I don’t want to set expectations or commitments, especially since my schedule is always changing due to my full-time job. I mostly play and review games whenever I can during my spare time, so I’m normally just winging it tbh. After all, otome gaming is a hobby for me, not a full-time career.
I apologize if this is disappointing, but if you’d still like some casual updates on what I’m currently playing, along with upcoming reviews and walkthroughs, I do share monthly updates through my newsletter. You’re always welcome to check there if needed.
As for the titles I plan to prioritize releasing reviews and walkthroughs for next year, I am certain that I’ll definitely be releasing content for the 10 Switch titles listed above. In addition, there are a few games from my backlog that I’ve been playing this year, which I’m hoping to finish and possibly review as well in 2026. I won’t mention the titles, as I want them to pop up in the most random, out-of-nowhere fashion ever! (cackles)😝
- End of Year 2025 Survey Results
If you’ve filled out my End-of-Year survey this year, you may have noticed that I added a “community section” to it. This was meant to gauge reader interest and to better understand what visitors of this site are most excited about, especially when it comes to otome games and localizations. A lot of the survey answers are really insightful and fun:
Top 3 Favorite Localization Titles:
- Collar x Malice
- Jack Jeanne
- Olympia Soiree
Top 10 Titles you want to see localized:
- Nil Admirari no Tenbin
- Matsurika no Kei
- 9 R.I.P. Sequel
- Olympia Soirée Catharsis
- Jakou no Lyla
- Clock Zero
- Diabolik Lovers
- Ken ga Kimi
- UN:Logical
- Wand of Fortune, Honey Vibes (tied in 10th place)
Despite Rejet’s resolute stance when it comes to localizing their games in the West, it’s still pretty funny how Diabolik Lovers keeps popping up in the top 10 of these surveys lol.🤣 Give it up guys! jk
Out of the ten listed above, my heart is on Olympia Soirée: Catharsis, UN:Logical, and maybe 9 R.I.P. Sequel. Those three are the ones I’m personally hoping to see announced in the near future!
- Group Orders
I’ve mailed all of the GO items from last year’s GO list. Unfortunately, I’ll be stopping any GOs for the foreseeable future. The tariffs right now make it difficult to handle bulk orders overseas, and I really don’t want to carry that burden or stress anymore. I want to sincerely thank all my GO members for being so understanding about this.
- New “Otome Kitten” Site Banner
I’ve been putting off changing the website banner for a while, but this year I commissioned three artists to create a new banner for the site. I just haven’t decided which one will be the best fit yet. I’m hoping to make the switch by the end of Q1, so expect the new banner to go up by the end of March! It’ll feature the same mascot and color scheme, just in a different art style this time.
Personal Updates
This year has definitely been…..something. I’m not going to pretend that the world is all rosy and perfect, because it is most certainly NOT the case, and very far from it even. But I hope I am allowed to refrain from reporting the bad things here. We already get so much of that from the news, so I wanted to at least keep this post as trigger-free as possible. I’ll still be rambling, just focusing less on the negative aspects.
I consider this post below as TMI, so I’ll be keeping it, as usual, under a spoiler tab! This part has nothing to do with otome games as well, so feel free to skip this section if you’d like.
⬇️ Personal highlights of 2025!
♥Went to see Taemin this year!
And it was amazing. This was Taemin’s first solo tour in the U.S., and a friend and I (who’s been my otome moot since the dark ages lol) met up in the cold of February to watch his Ephemeral Gaze tour together. It was honestly surreal. Taemin is just the best! Here’s a random clip from one of his ments during the concert (video quality not that good sorry!) His VIP passes sold out pretty fast so we couldnt get one! SOB
♥Went to see Baekhyun this year!
Went with the same friend, and her sister, (us three are practically concert besties now) to see Baekhyun’s Essence of Reverie tour last June. This one was a much more emotional experience. I was in tears after the concert for some reason lol. I thought it was just me, but my friend’s sister was crying right beside me too.HAHA The concert was so emotional that I honestly can’t put it into words. Getting to see Baekhyun sing live is honestly an out-of-body experience, I’m not even joking. It was just incredible!😭 The organizer for Taemin’s tour was the same one for Baek, so we didnt get to secure VIP passes either! bummer! Here’s a random clip of Baekhyun’s EoR concert.
♥Went to see KAI this year!
KAI is literally my ult. I’d only ever dreamed of seeing him perform live at a solo con, so when he announced Western dates for KAION, I was genuinely on cloudnine. His concert was amazing! My throat hurt from all the screaming, but its fine! I was also incredibly lucky to snag some of his VIP1 passes before it sold out, this included a backstage meet-and-greet. I’m still giddy just writing this. I completely froze when I saw him in person (full system shutdown lmao). It was embarrassing, my god, but at least I got to lock eyes with KAI for a solid five seconds. Best five seconds of my life!😭 Here’s a clip of me almost losing it during the exo medley. (Warning: feral screaming)
That pretty much sums up the highlights of my 2025! I’m a firm believer that kpop concerts are one of the best forms of therapy and self-care out there. You get to meet up with friends, indulge in the things you love, listen to great music, meet other fans, dress up and feel cute, watch your idol perform live and sell happiness on stage! LOL I mean… it works! fr!🤣 PS: My friends and I are going to see Taemin and Baekhyun again in Vegas this January! Might giveaway some freebies by the entrance so if you’re also going, pls come say hi! ❤
As the title says for this Round-Up post, this year I’ve been laser-focused on chasing small heaps of happiness wherever I can find them. I realize I’m not getting any younger, and spending too much time and energy on things that leave me mentally drained just isn’t worth it (it slowly eats you alive, honestly). So yeah, it’s been a nice change to be a little selfish for once and try to reward myself with small bits of joy from time to time. I’m also very thankful that nothing incredibly bad has happened to me this year…at least nothing I couldn’t eventually get back on my feet from. As for work, I don’t expect my situation to magically improve really, especially not with the country’s economy struggling and companies refusing to hire more people. Unfortunately as long as corporate sharks exist, I’m always going to be overworked. My advice to anyone just starting their career is to be careful about sharing your skillset with your boss if it is not directly related to your line of work, or you risk being taken advantage of.
Special Thanks
I’ve opened again up my end-of-year survey this year. This survey is basically to gauge readership as I do constantly wonder whether there are still people reading this blog. It also helps me improve the content on this site. Over the years, I’ve added a lot of features, like the spoiler drop-downs, glossary terms and the Switch masterlist pages, which were originally suggestions from readers. I want to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone who has contributed feedback over the years. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!🥹
Also, I’d like to sincerely thank all who filled out the form and left such kind comments and praises. I don’t think I deserve all of this, tbh. I haven’t really been pumping out a constant stream of articles on the blog this year, and that’s entirely on me…there’s only so much energy a person can have in a day!🥲One thing I’m especially proud of this year though is pouring my heart into every piece of content I created. Honesty and meticulous dedication are values I hold dear, and I hope they shine through in the work I share on this blog.🥹
This little corner of the internet has always been a form of therapy for me. It is a happy place I can return to whenever life gets tough. I think what makes this even more special is knowing that while I do this as a hobby to bring a little happiness to myself, there are also people out there who find that same sense of joy in reading what I write.
I am really really, incredibly grateful to everyone who still visits this site after all these years, leaves comments, fangirls with me, or even to those who point out walkthrough errors, spelling mistakes, typos, or to the ones who sends me news tips and game updates via email. You are all my comrades at heart. THANK YOU SO MUCH for treating me with such kindness this year. 🙇🏻♀️ I promise to return it twice as much through the content I create next year!!
Also, guys! Congratulations, we made it to the last leg of 2025! My sincere wish for 2026 is that you can find and indulge in the happiness you for sure deserve. Even if it is just for a little while, go grab that small piece of joy. Enjoyment is a choice, go ahead and claim the happiness that is rightfully yours. Happy New Year everyone!🎉🥂
