Solo indie developer Anta and publishers, Neoclassic Games has released their new otome game, Pre-Odyssey: Love at First Quack, available on both Steam and Itch.io. The game features partial English voice acting, with two romance endings and two friendship endings for players to discover.
ABOUT THE GAME
Originally created as a free entry for NaNoRenO 2022, the game was first released under the title Pre-Odyssey: Odysseus, Penelope & Her Ducks on Itch.io. Development started a week after the game jam had begun. Sparked by inspiration from the Fate/Grand Order event, Aeaean Spring Breeze, which featured Odysseus and Circe. And having learned by the hero’s dedication to his wife, the developer dove into their story and decided to create the game fueled purely by shipping.
Later that same year (2022), development on a remaster began with the goal of renewing the rushed art assets, as well as adding content that had to be cut due to the jam’s time constraints. The remaster’s development was paused as Otome Jam 2023 approached, to make way for another project: Thorn for the Villain~ Reincarnated as an Extra in an Otome Game?!
In 2025, development resumed and the remaster reached near completion. The updated version includes:

- Retouched CGs
- A newly added lore & trivia gallery
STORY
Princess Helen of Sparta is the most beautiful woman in the world, coveted by almost all the kings and princes of Greece.
Suitors from far and wide have flocked to their palace in hopes of winning her hand in marriage.
…But this isn’t about her.
Enter Penelope, Helen’s less popular cousin.
While staying at her uncle’s palace, she encounters one of Helen’s supposed suitors, the notorious ‘trickster king’, Odysseus.
However, this Spartan princess is also notorious in her own right…
… As the favorite daughter of Prince Icarius?
No, not that one.
I mean, as the notorious ‘duck girl’.
This story is based on the Oath of Tyndareus, and a couple of other myths centering on Penelope and Odysseus.
