Kickstarter Campaign for the Otome Game Volontés is now Live!

Japanese game developer and publisher Loca Games, known for their previous title Yukar of the Abyss, has officially launched its Kickstarter campaign to bring their latest otome game, Volontés, to the global audience.

Originally released in Japan for the Nintendo Switch on May 22, 2025, Volontés is a Dark Fantasy × Suspense otome game in which the main character, who has lost everything, finds her way of life while facing tragedy. You can check out the game’s original Japanese website here.

ABOUT THIS CAMPAIGN

This is the second relaunch of the Kickstarter campaign for the game’s localization. Please note that the game has already been released in Japan. This campaign is specifically to fund the English localization of the Nintendo Switch version. A PC (Steam) port is also planned as a stretch goal, should the initial funding goal be met. By supporting the campaign, backers can receive a discounted copy of the game, along with exclusive rewards and updates throughout the localization process.

The game will be digital-only, fully voiced in Japanese, and will include English language support. Volontés also features a cast of popular voice actors known from other otome games.

TRAILER

STORY

It is an era shrouded in darkness, where the world is sealed off, and a deadly plague ravages the land. A peaceful village is ruthlessly attacked by a knightly order, leaving your home destroyed and family murdered.

Saved by a mysterious figure, you’re led to a magical city floating on the sea. There, the stranger proclaims you to be the Moon Witch, destined to guide the people to prosperity. But amidst your newfound safety and status, turmoil begins to brew. A sudden death sends shockwaves through the kingdom, friends turn on each other, alliances falter, and blades begin to clash. You yearn to end the cycle of tragedy and forge a lasting peace.

As tensions escalate, the time will soon come to decide whom to trust and which path to tread to witness the unfolding of your fate.

CAST AND CHARACTERS

Fiena (Protagonist)

Taken in by a family of farmers as an infant, she worked tirelessly, determined not to burden those who had sheltered her. One day, she is led to a magical kingdom, where she is recognized as a holy priestess — the Moon Witch. Overwhelmed by this new role, she finds herself thrust into a world of wonder and confusion.

Olivier Paquet (CV: Kazuyuki Okitsu)

Dark Machinations x Mightiest Sorcerer.
He stands as the highest-ranking mage and cleric in the Kingdom of Ombrelle. A self-assured individual, well aware of his unrivaled magical prowess. While presenting himself with dignity as a cleric in public, his demeanor becomes rather casual in the company of those he trusts. Yet, is it just an illusion that occasionally, an unfathomable darkness seems to emanate from him?

Ismail (CV: Souma Yamoto)

Seductively Skilled x Esteemed Physician.
As a magical medical practitioner, he serves as the royal physician to the king. Kind to everyone, he holds no interest in the power struggles within the castle. Strangely, he seems to attract women effortlessly, yet maintains an emotional distance from others. One can’t help but hope that his kindness and trustworthiness are genuine.

Emmanuel de Beaumont (CV: Yuichiro Umehara)

Chillingly Calculated x Enigmatic Noble
He is a diligent and reserved domestic affairs official, devoid of magical abilities. Since he rarely makes appearances at social gatherings, most nobles are unaware of his existence. All that’s known about him is that he harbors an abundance of secrets.

Melodie (CV: Tatsuhisa Suzuki)

Sharp-Tongued x Bard
He serves as a court bard, entertaining the palace with his tales, yet is devoid of any magical abilities. Additionally, he is also a member of the knightly order. His sharp tongue has left him with few friends, yet despite this, he is surprisingly easy to talk to.
