HuneX Co. Ltd and Dramatic Create will be porting EPHEMERAL – Fantasy on Dark to the Nintendo Switch digitally (worldwide) this coming January 21, 2021. Besides the full game, a trial edition will also be released on the same date.

STORY

Our heroine, Cloé, was born and raised in a caged town behind tall fences.
All the residents of this town are zombies, like Cloé. Daily life in this town is peaceful… Apart from the many suicides.
Cloé has always wished to learn more about the outside world, and one day…
Cloé receives an admission notice for a prestigious school, only enrolled by the elites of various races.

CHARACTERS

NATSUME (CV: Toshiyuki Toyonaga)
Race: Mummy
Collected and reserved, he is known to draw a line between himself and others. Although he is a mummy of low-class, he is somehow very hard to miss. Cunning with an air of elegance around him, he is a mysterious person with a complicated personality.

“If you promise to be a good girl, I’ll play with you later.”

SHIBA (CV: Takashi Kondo)
Race: Werewolf
Friendly and good-natured, he loves to play tricks on others and always acts as the life of the party.
Although he has his looks and style, he may not be what he appears to be……?

“No. I’ve got to change. Otherwise, I’ll be the embarrassment of my race!”

NAGI (CV: Shun Horie)
Race: Invisible Man
A good student with a gentle soul, he is a shy introvert with a lovable appearance. He seems to carry darkness within him, unnoticeable yet unforgettable once you see it.

“Will you…keep me in your memories?”

RAY (CV: Kazuyuki Okitsu)
Race: Vampire
He has pride in his race, and he has an intense weakness for beauty.
With an arrogant personality, he only takes blood from those with beautiful appearances.

“I’m in a lousy mood. Come, I require some of your blood.”

EPHEMERAL – Fantasy on Dark was first launched for the PS Vita console back in January 2018 in (Japan) and was ported to the PC (Steam) worldwide in September 2018.

(As noted by the Publishers) While the storyline of the game remains identical to the Steam Edition, part of the English translation in this game has been corrected.

  2. Without looking at reviews, this game seems really interesting to me, enough to make me want to dump $40. However, people seem to have *very* mixed feelings in reviews, with many really trashing the game, so I’m not sure. What do you think? Maybe I should just wait for it to go on sale…?

    1. When the game came out in 2018, I’ve heard it had iffy translations so I believe that’s where most of the backlash came from. For the switch release they (the publishers) did said they’ve improved the EN translations so hopefully those TL issues were resolved. I cant really say anything yet abt the story since I havent played it myself lol. They do have a demo version, so maybe you can try that one first before actually spending $$ for the full game. It also might be better to wait for a sale if you’re still not sure abt it after playing the demo. 🙂

  3. Aaaaw I should have waited!!! I bought this game on steam like 2 months ago… But I prefer playing visual novel and otome on Switch. T-T

  4. What are your thoughts on the game after finishing it? Is it worth the price or is better to wait for it to go on sale. I played the demo and liked it and would buy it to play but just curious of your opinion. I use your walkthroughs a lot.

  6. I am debating on if I should buy this buy now, or wait for it to go on sale. It sounds very interesting, but I have so many other games to play, it is not fair (T~T). Especially since there are 3 releases coming out (otome wise) in February, it makes me have mixed feelings to see more release (I just don’t have the timeeeeeee- ;A;)
